Two Countries, Three Generations 

Our co-founder and president, Jose, is a jeweler; his two older brothers are jewelers; his son and nephew are jewelers. The family trade, which originated from uncles in Guadalajara, carried over to the Midwest, and General Design was created in 1991. We quickly established ourselves as one of many reputable jewelers on Jewelers Row. 

While the terms "jeweler," "joyero," and "joyería" may appear to be stale and outdated, the imagination that sinks itself into our hands and craft is not. With over three decades worth of experience, the drive that keeps us going boils down to one simple principle: a dedication to to constructing the cornerstone of life's most important memories—big and small, for our clients and even ourselves. 

Our showroom, located at 7211 W Irving Park Rd, Suite A, Chicago, IL 60634, offers a sample size of the work that we can create for you. Whether you are looking for jewelry that is classic and traditional, or trendy and unique, we are always ready to help! Our showroom is always open for walk-ins, no appointment necessary.
